The Urban Survival Club of Omaha (USCO) was started by Mr. Qasim Shabazz in January 2016. Mr. Shabazz saw a need in the urban community with the young males and created a program to show them other avenues outside of gangs, crime, and poverty. The USCO working with the Black Agenda Alliance (BAA) has done many great things for the youth such as the Urban Flag Football League (UFFL), Gang Education and Prevention Seminars, and Black Studies Bootcamp for Youth.
The Model is:
"TEACH the boy, CREATE the man."
The Urban Survival Club is more than just a club - it's a movement, a brotherhood, and a testament to the boundless possibilities that await when one embraces their true self and their role in shaping a better future. We serve a group of young men ages 8-16 years old who are provided a nurturing space where they can embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and cultural enrichment. We expose the young men and open their minds to life outside of crime, poverty, and gangs. This is done through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
